Recent Acquisitions + Swiffer Box Dio Touch Ups!

Like I stated In my last post,Wal Mart has Star Wars Black Series 3 3/4 figures on sale for about $5 bucks a piece!While  most are from the new film there are  a couple of ROTJ based figures to be had.I snagged up the two I needed most,Jedi Luke and Lando!


Also,digging around Inside my junk drawer I found 4 stands for one of our  smart TV's.We don't use the stands so I decided to go over two of them with some white paint and use them on my Star Wars winter scene dio. They fit perfectly inside of the round insets. 






And now that I  finally have a Jedi Luke figure ,I went ahead and painted up a spare Swiffer box I had laying around all black.  


Added two of those TV stands ,unpainted and now I have a dio for my Vader and Jedi Luke figures.I have since added a battery operated touch light and will have pics of the completed dio shortly.  


But seriously,If your late to the articulated Star Wars figure scene and would like to start from scratch,the Black Series would be the way to go.I was lucky enough to snag up some of the Vintage Collection figures  back In the day but still need lots of fillers.Jedi Luke,Lando and Admiral Akbar are all available In this Black Series line and would be a great start off point for those looking to collect updated versions of  figures based on the first few films.

Go! Games and Toys

The other day ,my better half and I had the chance to traverse our local mall early In the day.I hate going to malls at peak hours or on the weekends.The crowds are just too damn cool for me.Long story short,our mall now has a toy store! I couldn't believe my eyes.From a far It looked like It was going to be some artsy fartsy place with educational toys ,wooden blocks and model kits,but no!This place had pretty much everything collectors go for nowadays.The name of the store Is "Go!,Toys and Games" and I can honestly say that I've never heard of It before.Everything was a dollar or two extra ,but that's not too bad considering how ridiculously expensive modern toys are In hobby and toy shops these days.I really hope this place sticks around. There Is a nice mix of everything.Marvel Legends,Star Wars  to blind bags to Funko figs.On top of that there are tons of board games   and books. WTF? Yes! 3 3/4 Marvel Legends!!!!!Not alot thou

A GI Joe Post That's Not Classified

As much as I love the Classified line of Joe figures, I feel like there's other Joe stuff out there that deserve a little bit of that spotlight.   Pictured are two custom cardback figure protectors and four Diamond Select 💎  GI Joe figures.   I'd been looking for a way to protect my stashed 3.75  o-ring Joe's when I came across these online. I picked up William Perry's and Snake Eyes protectors and will be adding more as they are made available.   These are unpunched, clean and professional looking cardbacks that feature vintage artwork  on the front and file card on the back.  Diamond Select just doesn't get the props they deserve in my opinion. As much as I dig  their Marvel Minimates line, these Joe Minimates are equally cool! I'm not even sure I want to open these guys up. I mean I want to, but would hate to.

Pop Culture League Assignment - Shelfie

I remember The League of Extraordinary Bloggers back In the day, never partook In any of the festivities, though. This time around, especially with state of  the blogosphere , I feel I need to participate a little more to see If we can breathe life back into toy blogging! So , a big thank you to Brian over at Cool and Collected  for  bringing the League back. Here's my  introductory league assignment post. Very simple ,snap a pic of two of your very favorite shelves. I chose the two shelves hat display all of my vintage . It only recently wrapped around to the bottom shelf with the addition of  a couple of Swamp Thing figures I received from Brother Midnight In a recent trade. I'm hoping to fill out the bottom shelf over the coarse of the winter.
